With the second half of February underway, the countdown to spring is officially on. Spring brings us lighter evenings and warmer weather and what better way to celebrate by inviting natural light into your home. It’s now easier than ever to achieve this in our homes by adding windows, doors or a fully glazed extension.
In order to ensure that you get the benefits of natural light, you could add some extra windows or make your current windows larger. Many homes don’t offer any light into hallways, staircases or landings and although this may not always be possible. Consider having a walk around your home and see if there is anywhere a window could be placed which would in turn provide more sunlight.
Let in Natural Light
Bi Folding doors have quintessentially become one of our most popular doors. They maximise the amount of light that comes into our home. When closed, they act as a wall of glass enabling far more natural light into a room than just your standard window or door. Additionally, upon opening bi folding doors they completely fold away, thus removing any barrier between the sun and your home.
If you are planning to invest in a new extension you could consider purchasing a glass roof or a lantern roof. You could look into replacing your old conservatory roof with a one of our replacement extremely high performing roofs. These roofs will maximise your homes energy efficiency. They will reflect the sun rays during the summer and retain the warmth in the winter. However, if a fully glazed roof isn’t your style, you could opt for a lantern roof. Lantern roofs are structurally strong and equipped to hold larger glass panes with slimmer frames. This will allow even more natural light into your home and with thermally efficient glass they are good for keeping your home at the right temperature all year round.
